As head of the litigation team in the Chattanooga office, Mike advises in the areas of business/commercial, ERISA/employee benefits, first-party insurance, employment, lender liability, construction, and product liability and toxic tort. He has directed complex product liability litigation for clients in the automotive, commercial gas, chemicals and pharmaceutical industries, involving strict liability, failure to warn, breach of warranty and other related claims. He has handled commercial and personal injury litigation for these clients, as well as multidistrict litigation, insurance disputes and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) claims. He is also a Rule 31 General Civil Mediator.
Mike has represented the following healthcare industry clients in a variety of litigation: hospitals and health systems, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, medical device manufacturers and mail order pharmacies. He has also counseled healthcare industry clients on hospital executive separation and fiduciary duty issues.
