Lenny engages primarily in patent prosecution and in intellectual property litigation, counseling and opinions. He frequently drafts legal memoranda for filing in intellectual property litigation matters, and has successfully argued orally in federal district and appellate courts in recent years. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia.
Before joining the firm, Lenny was in the U.S. Navy. He conducted criminal trial and appellate litigation, taught evidence to new military lawyers, and was on loan to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Hawaii, where he conducted federal civil trial litigation. Lenny’s engineering experience included work on the lunar module and the F-14 at Grumman Aerospace Corp. and more than four years on Admiral Rickover’s staff in the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program.
