Husch Blackwell’s Sudee Mirsafian Wright was recently named a 2011 Up and Coming Lawyer by Law Week Colorado. In the November 14 Law Week Colorado edition featuring the 2011 class, Wright is acknowledged for her hard work, career accomplishments and contribution to the Denver community.
An Associate in the firm’s Denver office, Wright handles a variety of Business Litigation matters, including contract disputes and business torts. She has acted as lead and assisting counsel in commercial litigation matter in arbitration and mediation, in both federal and state courts. She is pursuing admission to the patent bar in order to expand her work on patent infringement cases. “Sudee is very bright, eager, knowledgeable, quick to learn, and is willing to take on any task,” said Denver Office Managing Partner Mary Stuart.
In addition to her work on behalf of firm clients, Wright also works on pro bono cases via the firm’s pro bono outreach program. This last year alone, she spent more than 600 hours on one case, resulting in a complete victory for her pro bono clients. Denver Partner David Steefel, who often works alongside Wright, said, “She’s tenacious. I don’t think anyone can out-work her.”
Wright holds leadership positions within the firm as well. She is a member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee and Diversity Committee, and, having transferred from the firm’s Kansas City, Mo., office in 2008, she helped bring the firm’s True North program for women executives and professionals to the Denver office.
Outside the office, Wright is a Board Member of the Denver Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and serves as Husch Blackwell’s associate representative for the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado’s annual fundraising campaign. She also serves as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado and was voted onto its Associate Board effective January 2012.
Wright was among the nine selected for 2011 class out of 80 nominees. Those chosen were selected for their positive influence in the legal industry and in their communities. Nominees had to be under 40 years old or have less than 10 years’ experience in the field of law.
