Jeffrey D. Hanslick

Jeffrey has helped employers manage their employees through an increasingly regulated workplace and has successfully defended employers in all types of employment disputes, including in regional and national wage and hour class actions and in traditional labor arbitrations. He has served as lead and secondary trial/arbitration counsel in all types of discrimination, traditional labor and Fair Labor Standards Act cases. Jeffrey has handled successful defense of judgments on appeal, including before the Eighth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal and before various state courts of appeal (e.g., Missouri, Kansas and Washington).

Jeffrey, a member of the firm’s Partner Board, frequently conducts human resource audits, policy reviews and training sessions on effectively managing employees, including anti-harassment, Family Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training. He has negotiated, drafted or litigated executive employment agreements, restrictive covenants and trade secrets. Jeffrey is a frequent speaker and author on labor and employment topics.

In his business litigation practice, Jeffrey has successfully protected trade secrets, enforced restrictive covenants, and represented companies in a variety of commercial disputes.

Before joining the firm, Jeffrey taught at Washington University School of Law from 1994 to 1996. He also was previously an Associate with Sidley & Austin in Chicago.
