Husch Blackwell D.C. Office Managing Partner Steven M. Kupka won the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Best of the Best Personal Development Seminar Award for his 2011 Inside Washington seminar. Kupka was honored at YPO’s Global Leadership Summit in Singapore last week.
YPO is a not-for-profit global network of executives sharing a mission to become “Better Leaders through Education and Idea Exchange.™” A longtime member of YPO, Kupka organizes the annual Inside Washington seminar for YPO members. With high-ranking government officials as speakers and guests, the seminar provides an insider’s view of the nation’s capital and government operations, and offers a unique perspective of U.S. politics and its surrounding system. 2011 marked the sixth year of Kupka’s Inside Washington seminar, and it has been consistently well-received by those in attendance.
Kupka chairs Husch Blackwell’s Government Affairs and Contracting Department, and the firm’s Political Action Committee. He has more than 30 years of public policy, political activity and government experience, which includes working for The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the U.S. House of Representatives. Focusing his practice in Governmental Affairs law, Kupka assists clients by strategizing, building relationships and monitoring legislative developments in the United States government that might affect client enterprises.
