Two Associates Join Husch Blackwell’s Denver Office

Husch Blackwell welcomes associates Marshall A. Custer and Courtney Lee Tawresey to its Denver office. Custer joins the firm’s Securities & Corporate Governance group, and Tawresey joins the Financial Services industry team, where she will focus on banking and finance and tax credit matters.

Prior to joining Husch Blackwell, Custer was an associate with Messner Reeves. His experience includes counseling high-tech startups on formation, financing, intellectual property and governance matters. He previously served as in-house counsel for a venture backed digital music startup, where he was lead advisor for the company’s legal and regulatory matters. Custer received his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School (2010), and his M.B.A. from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business (2010). He received his B.S.E. from Purdue University (2002). 

Tawresey most recently served as an associate in the Seattle office of the law firm Garvey Schubert Barer. Prior to that, she was a senior tax associate in the Denver office of Grant Thornton. Tawresey brings experience in international tax, transactional tax, compliance and corporate law matters, and has assisted national and international companies with merger and acquisition planning and execution. Tawresey received her LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law (2011). She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School (2006), where she was development editor for Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics and Public Policy. She received her B.A., cum laude and with distinction, from Cornell University (2003).
