Thomas Venker Joins Husch Blackwell as Senior Counsel

Husch Blackwell welcomes Thomas E. Venker Jr. as Senior Counsel on the firm’s Financial Services industry team. His practice primarily focuses on trust and estate issues and is located in St. Louis.

Venker advises clients in matters of taxation, estate planning and general business. In estate planning, he counsels clients on estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, charitable remainder trusts, prenuptial agreements, voting trusts, buy/sell agreements, wills and various other trusts. In the area of taxation, he has worked closely with S corporations, limited-liability companies, partnerships, like-kind exchanges, condemnations, and estates and trusts. He also has experience dealing with the sales of interests in closely held businesses and other general corporate matters.

For the past 33 years, Venker practiced law at The Stolar Partnership. He started there as an Associate immediately following law school, was named Partner four years later, and eventually became a member of the firm’s leadership committee and chaired its business and tax department.

He earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University of Law and his B.S. in accounting from the University of Virginia.
