National law firm Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that Tim Capria has joined as a partner and as a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property team.

Capria—based in Nashville, Tennessee—focuses his practice on trademark portfolio management and counseling, including both the registration and filing of trademarks and the policing of potential mark infringement domestically and abroad. Many of the clients he represents have hundreds of trademarks worldwide, and he has a special focus on franchisers, consumer goods manufacturers and distributors, and media properties.

“Husch Blackwell’s national reach is an added value to my clients and allows me to take my practice to the next level since my clients are nationally and internationally based,” Capria said. “I was impressed with Husch Blackwell’s commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and the firm’s embrace of a work-from-anywhere model, both of which can help attract top talent in a competitive environment. I look forward to growing our presence in Nashville.”

He builds intellectual property strategies that fit client resources and client needs—and that add value to client businesses. Determining which trademarks to protect and police, and where around the globe to protect and police them, is an essential part of portfolio management, and Capria draws on his decade of experience to advise clients on high-value, practical strategies.

Capria becomes the sixth attorney in the Nashville area to join Husch Blackwell since the beginning of January 2022. The firm recently added consumer financial services attorneys Christopher Friedman, Alex McFall and Shelby Lomax.

“Nashville is a growing legal market and one that we’ve had our eye on for quite some time due to the number of opportunities that align with our industry structure,” said Paul Eberle, Husch Blackwell’s Chief Executive. “We have a strong foundation of attorneys in the Music City because of the Link and we continue exploring additional growth opportunities.”
