Husch Blackwell Postal Service Contracting Partner David Hendel spoke on American Public Media’s Marketplace Morning Report after news broke that the U.S. Postal Service lost another $5.2 billion last quarter. Debate continues as to whether Congress will and should step in to bolster the agency. Hendel believes the Postal Service is facing a rough patch but that it’s not going away. “The postal industry is going to be a vital part of the economy,” Hendel said. “It’s already part of a trillion-dollar industry involving about 8 million people [who work in the mailing industry].
