The American College of Environmental Lawyers recently named Husch Blackwell’s Keith Hopson a Fellow. Membership in ACOEL is by invitation only, and is composed of distinguished lawyers who practice in the field of environmental law. Hopson was one of just 20 individuals elected in ACOEL’s 2013 membership pool.

A Partner in Austin, Texas, Hopson is a member of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources team. He counsels clients in environmental matters involving solid waste, hazardous waste, Superfund, environmental litigation and permitting, international environmental law, environmental auditing, Brownfield issues and in the environmental aspects of commercial transactions. Widely recognized as a leader in his field, Hopson has been acknowledged by Chambers USA since 2003, named a Best Lawyer since 1999, and a Texas Super Lawyer since 2004. He also maintains a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent peer ranking.

“The twenty lawyers elected to the College this year include top environmental lawyers in government service, academia, the NGO (non-governmental organizations) community and private practice, drawn from across the country,” stated Angus Macbeth, ACOEL President. “These individuals, chosen by their peers, have earned this recognition based on achievements over a minimum 15 year period, in which they have led the field in diverse areas of environmental law and policy. The College is honored to have this distinguished class join its ranks.”

ACOEL membership eligibility is limited to those who have practiced environmental law for at least 15 years and whose practice for the five years prior to membership nomination has been at least 50 percent focused in the area of environmental law.

Clients rely on Husch Blackwell’s team of nearly 50 Energy & Natural Resources attorneys to handle industry-specific challenges and effectively assist with new opportunities and ongoing projects.
