Husch Blackwell Sanders will be honored as the “Best Place for Women to Work” at the St. Louis Daily Record’s Tenth Annual Women’s Justice Awards.  The event will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2008.

The Women’s Justice Award follows another prestigious honor for Husch Blackwell Sanders.  Last year, the firm was named a Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers Best Law Firm for Women.  The firm was honored for creating a work environment that is hospitable to and encouraging of the advancement of women. With innovative programs and policies that help female attorneys achieve balance in their personal and professional lives and thrive as practitioners, Husch Blackwell Sanders is ensuring that women are the future of private law practice.

One of the firm’s most unique contributions to its women attorneys is its True North program. Founded in 2004, the program’s goal is to promote professional networking and development of the firm’s female attorneys and female clients. Client contacts are high-level decision-makers; program content is shaped around their needs and requests. The combination of thematic, content-rich programs and socializing opportunities provides a full-circle approach to retaining, recruiting, and enriching the lives of the firm’s female attorneys, as well as enrichment for clients.

True North Committee Leader Melissa Smith-Groff explains: "True North has provided the women attorneys with an atmosphere that encourages meaningful networking with clients and prospective clients.  The firm’s willingness to support this high-quality program is an impressive and positive statement to clients and prospective clients (as noted specifically in numerous evaluations), women attorneys at the firm, and recruits."

Saraann Parker, another True North Committee Leader adds: “I have had the privilege, as a founding member of the St. Louis office’s True North Committee, to participate in growing this unique program for our clients and our women attorneys. It is deeply satisfying to provide our women clients and attorneys with the opportunity to network with each other in a comfortable environment, while enjoying an inspiring speaker, a cool new venue, or a private activity planned just for them. The positive feedback we have received from clients and attorneys alike has been overwhelming and gratifying to say the least!”
