Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Husch Blackwell’s John R. Phillips to the University of Missouri Board of Curators. The six-year appointment was confirmed by the Missouri Senate on Jan. 31. The Board oversees the four campuses that make up the University of Missouri system.

In a Jan. 4 release, Gov. Nixon said of Phillips, “Through his work with the Edgar Snow Memorial Foundation and the Bloch School of Business at UMKC, with Saint Luke's Health Care and with numerous other organizations, John has selflessly served the people of Kansas City for the past four decades. …I am pleased to nominate him to provide that same dedication to the people of Missouri by serving on the Board of Curators for the University of Missouri system.”
