Husch Blackwell continues its growth with back-to-back additions to its Technology, Manufacturing, and Transportation industry group. Cross-border transactional partner Lana Yaghi joins the firm’s corporate practice team in the Washington, DC office.

Yaghi, who was most recently at Miller Canfield, focuses on corporate and commercial matters in a broad range of industries, with an emphasis on aviation and defense. She regularly advises U.S. and foreign clients on their cross-border business activities, particularly in connection with the establishment of operations and negotiation of commercial arrangements.

“Lana has an impressive background with deep connections abroad,” said Jeff Sigmund, partner and head of the firm’s Technology, Manufacturing, and Transportation industry group. “One of our strategic goals this year is to continue building our transportation team and further strengthen our capabilities internationally, and Lana does just that while also expanding our cross-border offerings.”

A significant portion of Yaghi’s cross-border work relates to the representation of clients, including Fortune 500 companies and high-net-worth individuals, in connection with the acquisition, sale, and financing of corporate aircraft and the regulatory aspects of structuring domestic and global aircraft ownership and operations.

Yaghi has considerable experience representing U.S. aerospace, defense and cybersecurity companies in connection with their foreign military sales and direct commercial sales activities with US partners and allies, including Qatar and other Gulf Cooperation Council jurisdictions.

“Husch Blackwell has been on an upward trajectory for the past five years and it’s something I wanted to be a part of,” Yaghi said. “I’m eager to get started and introduce my clients to the firm’s national footprint and deep bench of attorneys.”

Yaghi addition comes on the heels of Husch Blackwell adding a five-attorney supply chain and logistics team in Phoenix to the transportation practice, announced last week.
