Husch Blackwell has added Lynnette L. Siegel as Senior Counsel to its Educational Institutions group, where she will assist higher education clients with a variety of labor and employment matters. Having represented academic institutions for the past 90 years, Husch Blackwell has more attorneys dedicated to serving the legal needs of public and private educational institutions than any other law firm in Kansas City.
Siegel joins Husch Blackwell with a background in complex commercial litigation. After beginning her private legal practice in 2002, she spent two years as the executive director at Kansas City Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts (2004-2005).
Siegel earned her J.D., with distinction, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law (2002) and her B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry (1999) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
In addition, Siegel is a highly decorated graduate of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Language Institute, regarded as one of the finest schools for foreign language instruction in the country. Upon completing the institute’s Russian language studies program (1987), Siegel served as a cryptologic linguistic specialist for the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Crete, Greece.
Husch Blackwell’s Educational Institutions group is a recognized leader in representing academic institutions on a local, regional and national level. Attorneys in the firm’s education practice devote substantially all of their time to serving the needs of public and private elementary schools, secondary schools, institutions of higher education, and other education-related businesses and organizations.
