Husch Blackwell Adds Higher Education Attorney in Kansas City

Husch Blackwell welcomes Elizabeth S. Samples as Sr. Counsel to its Kansas City, Mo., office. Samples will concentrate her practice on Higher Education matters as a member of the firm’s Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education industry group.

Samples previously served as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (2010-2015). In her role, she evaluated, investigated and resolved discrimination complaints against recipients of federal financial assistance from the Department of Education. Initially upon graduating from law school, Samples served as a law clerk to the Hon. Richard D. Greene of the Kansas Court of Appeals in Topeka, Kan. (2008-2010).

Samples received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison (2008), where she was a member of the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society. Samples received her B.S., summa cum laude, in Social Work, and B.A., summa cum laude, in English, from Saint Louis University (2004).
