Second consecutive year of firm’s top ranking

On July 15, 2013, Husch Blackwell and Brown McCarroll joined forces and are known as Husch Blackwell in all markets.

For the second consecutive year, Brown McCarroll received an “A” on the annual Austin Law Firm Diversity Report Card, published in the April 2013 edition of Texas Lawyer. The report evaluates Austin firms based on the hiring and retention of minority attorneys. The Austin Asian American Bar Association, the Austin Black Lawyers Association, the South Asian Bar Association of Austin, the Austin LGBT Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin issue the annual report card in order to provide law firms with a way to gauge their diversity efforts, so that they might improve upon them.

The report provides a grade, based on the percentage of minority attorneys in each firm and other factors, for the 27 largest law firms in Austin. Brown McCarroll is one of seven law firms with Austin locations to receive the prestigious “A” rating in 2013.

Minorities comprise 14 percent of all attorneys licensed to practice law in Travis County. In order to receive an “A” grade, a law firm’s Austin office must meet or exceed the 14 percent threshold.
