Attorney at Law Magazine – Nebraska Edition: Husch Blackwell Partner Hal Daub Profiled For Achievements Within and Outside of Legal Career

News Releases

In the premier issue of Nebraska’s Attorney at Law Magazine, Omaha Partner Hal Daub was featured as the publication’s first Attorney of the Month. The article highlights Daub as attorney and civil servant, his resume including being a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Omaha Mayor, and Vice President and General Counsel of a multi-state livestock feed manufacturing company. “I enjoy opportunity,” Daub said. Making Husch Blackwell his home base in 2001, he credits his past experiences for helping shape his successful legal career. “Two-thirds of my active life has been in the law and business and one-third in public service. The combination of those experiences gives me valuable insight into helping clients,” Daub said. Daub’s legal work is concentrated in the areas of governmental affairs, public policy, healthcare, hospitality, startup financing and tax, with a special focus on small- and medium-sized corporate startups. He reflects on the advantages he finds working in a large law firm and mentoring younger attorneys. “We team our lawyers to match the needs of our clients so it’s great to have that kind of experience working for those clients,” he said. “We have subject-matter experts in just about every subject.” Throughout his career, Daub explains he’s had many doors of opportunity open to him, but concluded that by being an attorney, he could really help people and make a positive impact. “We’re problem solvers … Indeed it is an honorable profession.”
