Husch Blackwell welcomes Cedric A. Ireland to the Denver office as an Associate in the firm’s Energy team.
Previously, Ireland served as In-house Counsel for Denver-based Compass Wind, a community-based wind energy developer (2010-2012). While there, he counseled a team of energy professionals in the development of utility-scale wind projects in rural electric markets. He worked to acquire land rights, tax benefits and regulatory approvals; negotiated, drafted and executed procurement and construction contracts; and managed firmwide market research and prospecting efforts. Prior to Compass Wind, Ireland was an Advisor for clean tech company Village Green Ventures in New York City (Jan. – June 2010), which focuses on waste-to-energy projects, among other pursuits. He counseled the company on procurement contracts, regulatory requirements, government incentives and corporate structure.
Ireland received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in Newton, Mass. (2009), during which time he spent a semester studying abroad at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany, and served as a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopment Disabilities Legal Fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital. Prior to law school, Ireland was a Project Coordinator for The MRI Study of Normal Brain Development at the University of California, Los Angeles (2004-2006), where he managed a multidisciplinary group of doctors in the collection and assessment of study data. Ireland received his B.A. from Pomona College in Claremont, Calif. (2002).
