Peoria magazine InterBusiness Issues named Husch Blackwell Partner Tyler D. Petersen to the 40 Leaders Under Forty Class of 2011. The award honors 40 area leaders under the age of 40 for their accomplishments as business and community leaders.
A Partner in the firm’s Peoria, Ill., office, Petersen focuses his practice in the area of Corporate law and counsels clients on issues involving mergers and acquisitions, sales of businesses and securities law matters. He works with many local businesses and municipalities, often assisting with multimillion-dollar transactions. A leader within Husch Blackwell and the legal community, Petersen serves as Chair of the Peoria Office’s Hiring and Opinion committees and previously served as President of the Peoria County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Committee. Petersen speaks at a variety of legal seminars, has authored legal publications and was a guest lecturer at Bradley University’s Institute for Learning in Retirement.
In addition to his legal work and leadership, Petersen serves on the Morton Chamber of Commerce Board and its Finance and Golf Outing committees. Petersen also serves as a trustee of the Morton Community Foundation and sits on the Foundation’s Grant and National Standards committees. In addition, he serves on the Illinois Central College Educational Foundation Board, is a Morton Rotary Club member and volunteers in various Rotary outreach projects. He has also served as a Peoria Chamber of Commerce ambassador, helping to promote local commercial growth.
