Husch Blackwell Sanders proudly announces that our colleague, Richard A. Russell, has been included in the Springfield Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2008. The honor is reserved for Springfield’s leaders, achievers, and newsmakers under the age of 40.
Russell is an Associate Attorney in the Springfield office of Husch Blackwell Sanders. He conducts a general business practice, with an emphasis in estate planning, tax law, and business and corporate transactions. Russell earned a B.S. in Accountancy from Arizona State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Missouri. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. Additionally, Russell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Since moving to Springfield, Russell has been very active in the Springfield community. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Springfield Sunrise where he currently serves as Treasurer (and Treasurer-Elect) of the Board of Directors. For two years Russell taught students at Wilson’s Creek 5/6 as part of the Sunrise Rotary Character Education team and he has served for three years as co-captain of the Sunrise Rotary Rock n’ Ribs cooking team.
Russell is a member of Class XXIII of Leadership Springfield. He was the 2006-2007 Vice-President and is the 2007-2008 President of the Advisory Board for the Regional Girls’ Shelter and he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Greene County Estate Planning Council.
Russell was the 2007 and is the 2008 Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and received the 2007 Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association President’s Award for his service to the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. He also volunteers as a Pro Bono attorney for Legal Services of Southern Missouri in Springfield.
Russell is a founding member of Springfield Business Network, a business networking organization in Springfield.
Russell moved to Springfield after graduating from Rutgers University School of Law in 2004. While attending law school, he was an Articles Editor for the Rutgers Law Journal.
