Husch Blackwell welcomes back John P. Grant to its Washington, D.C., office, where he serves clients as a Senior Advisor of Governmental Affairs.
Previously, Grant was President of J.P. Grant, LLC (2006-2013), which served two distinct purposes for its clients: federal and state lobbying, policy development, media and grassroots coordination for the residential real estate investing industry; and political intelligence reporting to hedge funds and investment banks. Prior to starting J.P. Grant, Grant spent five years with Husch Blackwell (formerly Blackwell Sanders) as a Lobbyist, providing political intelligence consulting services to hedge funds and insurance companies.
Before his first stint with the firm, Grant served as a Legislative Analyst for StateScape, a state legislative and regulatory tracking firm in Arlington, Va. He provided public policy briefings and legislative forecasting on state legislative issues to financial services clients. Grant earned his B.A. from The John Hopkins University in 1995.
Husch Blackwell’s Public Policy, Regulatory & Governmental Affairs attorneys and advisors work as advocates on behalf of corporations, financial institutions, trade associations and non-profit entities, offering advice and assistance to work effectively with local, state and federal government agencies, as well as elected public officials.
