What is the deadline for submitting my resume and cover letter?
We encourage you to consult with your law school’s career services department to determine whether we interview on campus or maintain a resume drop at your law school. If so, your law school likely will have specific procedures and deadlines for submitting your resume through your school’s on-campus process.
The time period for 2Ls and 3Ls has closed. For 1L’s, the NALP guidelines provide that 1Ls cannot apply until AFTER December 1. We encourage you to consult with your law school’s career services department to determine whether we interview on campus or maintain a resume drop at your school.
What does Husch Blackwell look for in a law student?
We seek law students who are dynamic, bright, mature, innovative, and willing to take on significant responsibilities. We are looking for participants, not employees.
While we care about law-related activities such as law review and moot court, we also review law students' past employment backgrounds. Many of our lawyers successfully pursued other careers before joining the legal profession.
Our Summer Associates come from many different backgrounds and schools and maintain a wide variety of outside interests.
If I'm invited to the firm for an interview, what can I expect?
When you are invited to our firm for an interview a legal recruiting manager will let you know what to expect in the interview process and will answer any questions you have about the day. Depending on the office, if you are invited to our firm for an interview, expect to spend at least two to four hours with various lawyers.
