Erik defends clients in complex litigation involving toxic tort, products liability and intellectual property disputes in both state and federal courts. He has been extensively involved in complex, mass tort and class action products liability litigation involving consumer and commercial products containing benzene, solvents, PCBs, perchloroethylene and environmental contaminants such as hydrogen sulfide and perchlorate. Primarily representing Fortune 500 companies, Erik has handled cases in Illinois, Missouri, California, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Michigan.
Erik is also extensively involved in patent infringement cases involving the unauthorized use of patented biotechnology; he has successfully defended companies against claims of alleged federal and state antitrust violations. Multiple appeals from these cases have resulted in successful outcomes in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
