Dave advises clients regarding lifetime financial planning involving special needs of children, spouses and financial planning related to divorce. He prepares estate planning documents, including wills and trusts containing complicated tax and distribution provisions, family limited partnerships, irrevocable life insurance trusts, irrevocable gift trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, charitable remainder trusts and many other sophisticated estate planning devices. Dave also advises clients on estates and trusts in federal estate tax audits and litigation.
He is a member of the Advisory Committee of Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning of the University of Miami. He was an adjunct faculty member in the graduate tax program at the Washington University School of Law for more than 20 years, teaching courses on “Taxation of Foreign Income and Aliens” and “Fiduciary Income Tax.” He also formerly served as Editor-in-Chief of The Tax Lawyer.
