Situation
Represented Central New York Oil and Gas Co., a subsidiary of Inergy, L.P., in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to certify a controversial greenfield natural gas pipeline in the Marcellus shale-producing region of Pennsylvania.
Result
Following receipt of the requested certificate, our team defended it against a challenge by national environmental organizations, including the Sierra Club, in the U.S. Court of Appeals. Efforts included expedited briefing and argument leading to timely termination of a preliminary stay of the FERC action by the court.
