Expansion of Human Rights Law

Speaking Engagement
2.14.11
International Air Transport Association Legal Symposium
Vancouver, Canada

Husch Blackwell Partner Christa Hinckley and her co-presenters address the impact of the expansion of human rights laws in the air transport industry. Airlines are unwilling participants in moving adults and children across state and international borders for human trafficking. Christa will review the international treaties in place that try to prevent human trafficking and will address what steps the airlines and their employees can do to identify and prevent this crime from occurring.

Christa’s co-panelists, Joan Gabel, US Counsel for Air France, Blane Workie, Deputy Assistant General Counsel of the US Department of Transportation, and Karen Mosher, Secretary General of the Canadian Human Rights Commission will address regulatory and other legal developments in passenger access and accommodation of persons with special medical needs, as well as developments in privacy and anti-discrimination laws. The panel will be moderated by Richard Gimblett, Partner, of Barlow Lyde & Gilbert LLP, London.
