Brad is the Chair of Husch Blackwell’s Labor & Employment Department. His practice is devoted mostly to substantive labor law, employment discrimination defense and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) counseling/defense. In labor law, Brad helps clients design union avoidance strategies, negotiates collective bargaining agreements, and defends employers against unfair labor practice charges filed with the National Labor Relations Board. His employment discrimination defense practice has a national scope. He has obtained defense judgments for national companies in employment discrimination cases. Brad’s OSHA practice is also national in scope and has included the defense of 16 civil penalty actions involving fatalities. Brad has also successfully defended numerous enforcement actions brought by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Brad joined the firm as Associate in 1980 and was named Partner in 1986. He left the firm to serve as General Counsel and Secretary for Mississippi Lime Co. for a short time in 1992.
