He has extensive experience in prosecuting patent applications in a wide range of technologies, including electrical, mechanical, digital signal processing, robotics, hydraulics, dredging, wind and water energy generation, agricultural equipment, software, control systems for tomography, wheelchairs and cotton bailers, construction equipment and techniques, dental and surgical implants, medical catheters, food processing, sensors for science and industry, video processing, lighting control, water filters, hand tools, illuminated jewelry, heat exchangers, clutches, carbon and particulate emissions control and business methods.
Bob has successfully represented clients in litigation involving radar and orientation algorithms for pilots’ heads-up displays, chemical processing, telephone, software, wheel alignment control systems, quarter wave heat mirrors for safety glass, barbeque tools, munitions and metal fabrication of intermediate bulk containers.
In addition to his prosecution and litigation practice, Bob has successfully licensed technology, removed infringing items from Internet sales and opposed trademark applications. He also consults as an expert witness in patent infringement litigation.
Before entering the intellectual property field, Bob spent more than 15 years successfully representing clients in jury trials on medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. Bob’s technical background is in physics.
